About the Jesus Pillow Project
How it all started...
One spring morning, as I was praying and weeping, clutching a picture of Jesus, I heard a quiet thought in my heart:
“Put Jesus’ picture on a pillow.”
I thought, Okay…, but I didn’t act on it. Two weeks later, I heard the same prompting again—and I knew it wasn’t just my thought. It was from the Lord.
I jumped up, pulled out my sewing machine, and within two hours, I had made my first Jesus pillow using a picture from the internet and iron-on transfer paper. I loved it!
Later, at Bible study, someone asked if I could make one for her very sick sister-in-law. I said yes—but I realized I needed a unique painting of Jesus, one I had permission to use. Most artists I reached out to weren’t open to their work being used on pillows. So, I bought paints and prayed that God would guide my hand to create His image.
For six months, I struggled. Then a friend recommended a young woman from our church. She came over, and I watched in awe as she brought Jesus to life on the canvas. The first 15 layers were mine—I told her not to touch the eyes! So, the eyes and eyebrows are mine alone, and she completed the rest.
When I pass the canvas, I still feel the anointing. His eyes follow me. There is power in this artwork, and I believe God’s presence is truly in it.
This pillow was His idea—not mine. It’s meant to bring comfort on days when a picture just isn’t enough. I pray you feel God’s love and presence as you embrace this pillow and are reminded of how deeply Jesus loves you.
The Bigger Vision
In October 2021, the Lord placed a bigger plan on my heart: these pillows would be the seed money for something much greater—a thrift store that would help fund a Children’s Home. Once again, not my idea, but God’s.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Whether you’re buying one for yourself or someone you love, know that this project is rooted in prayer and purpose.
